Series: Jesus First

Kingdom Living

Speaker: Johnny Jones

Sermon Notes:

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33 AMP

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

 Kingdom:

Strong’s G932 in the following manner: kingdom of God, kingdom of heaven, kingdom (general or evil, Thy or Thine kingdom, His kingdom, the kingdom, My kingdom

Kingdom: basileia, bas-il-i’-ah

royal power, kingship, dominion, rule, not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom, of the royal power of Jesus as the triumphant Messiah, of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah’s kingdom, a kingdom, the territory subject to the rule of a king, used in the New Testament to refer to the reign of the Messiah

Am I living in the kingdom and experiencing the “Kingdom Life?”

In the “Kingdom Life” you reign because Christ lives in and through you.

 Revelation 5:10

And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”

Romans 5:17

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

Are you reigning?

Three signs you’re living in “The Kingdom.”

1. The Memorials

Colossians 1:27 NKJV

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27 AMP

God [in His eternal plan] chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in and among you, (in and out), the hope and guarantee of [realizing the] glory.

 2. The Marks

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Joshua 5:9

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.” So that place has been called Gilgal to this day.

3. The Miracles

The Kingdom is for anyone, just ask Rahab!

The one common thread, is the “scarlet thread.”
