To Tabernacle

Speaker: Johnny Jones

Sermon Notes: “TO TABERNACLE”

God With Us - Us With Him

Isaiah 54:2-5 NIV

2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,

    stretch your tent curtains wide,

    do not hold back;

lengthen your cords,

    strengthen your stakes.

3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left;

    your descendants will dispossess nations

    and settle in their desolate cities.

4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame.

    Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.

You will forget the shame of your youth

    and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.

5 For your Maker is your husband—

    the Lord Almighty is his name—

the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;

    he is called the God of all the earth.

The Tent is to “dwell”

“God With Us - Us With Him”

Dwell: live in or at a specified place.

God made the first tabernacle, the Garden of Eden and we “walked with them in the cool of the day.”

Second Tabernacle

Tabernacle in the wilderness.

Tabernacle: Strong’s H4908 mish-kawn'

 dwelling, habitation, dwelling place, place, dwelleth, tent

Third Tabernacle

Revelation 21:3 NKJV

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”

Tabernacle: Strong's G4637 skēnē skay-nay'

to tent or encamp, i.e. (figuratively) to occupy (as a mansion) or (specially), to reside (as God did in the Tabernacle of old, a symbol of protection and communion): to dwell.

Colossians 1:27

NIV: To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

NLT: For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you.
