Transformational Living: Keys From The Story Of Gideon

Speaker: Johnny Jones

Sermon Notes: TRANSFORMATIONAL LIVING

KEYS FROM THE STORY OF GIDEON

1. God is faithful to answer our calls for help.

Psalm 91:15 NIV

He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

Hebrews 4:16 NIV

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

2. The Lord calls out to our transformed selves.

Romans 8:1 AMP

Therefore, there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].

2 Corinthians 5:21

"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

3. The Lord will guide us.

Mark 16:20 NIV

Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Isaiah 30:21 NIV

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

John 16:13

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

4. The Lord develops our faith through steps of victory.

Zephaniah 3:17 CEV

The LORD your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.”

2 Corinthians 2:14 AMP

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

5. The Lord is not offended by our fleece.

James 1:5 AMP

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.
